Bonucci’s Misstep to Join Milan Last Season
By news-admin
DBasia.news – It’s rather unique to see the transfer of Leonardo Bonucci from AC Milan to Juventus. Seeing him move after only joining Milan for a year is like seeing a man who played for a new challenge but failed and returns to the former place.
Bonucci, 31, returned to Turin after defeating Milan in the 2017/2018 season. During his first period with Juventus, Bonucci played for 7 years, played in more than 220 matches and got 6 Scudetto, 3 Coppa Italia, 3 Italy Super Cup, and 2 times became the runner-up of Champions League. He also formed the tough duet in the defensive line with Giorgio Chiellini.
Juventus is the ideal place for Bonucci to play. He can show his best performance. But due to his decision last season and returning back, for now, Juve supporters can’t just accept it. They consider Bonucci as the betrayer.
Bonucci’s former teammate in Milan has a different opinion about him. With no doubt, he said Bonucci decided to return to Juventus because he was wrong to join Rossoneri.
“Yes, we lose leadership and experience. He brought many things in a very young team. He feels he took a step back signing for Milan and that is why he returns to Juventus,” Suso said reported by Football-Italia.
Milan lost Bonucci. But for the compensation, they got two players from Juventus, Gonzalo Higuain, and Mattia Caldara. Higuain could strengthen the front line of Milan, while Caldara came as the successor of Bonucci as the central defender.
