DBasia.news – Borja Mayoral has finally officially left Real Madrid, after 15 years as a Los Blancos player. The 25-year-old player will join another La Liga club, Getafe.
Madrid and Getafe have agreed a fee of 10 million euros for Mayoral, who is under a five-year contract until June 2027.
Mayoral, who has been in Madrid since 2007, bid farewell to his beloved club via social media.
“As a child, I dreamed of becoming a footballer. When I was 10 years old, I started to carry the Real Madrid crest in my heart. 15 years later I had to say goodbye and it wasn’t easy for me,” Mayoral wrote on his social media.
“This club has seen me grow, I’ve created a lot of incredible resources and I’ve been able to have an amazing experience.”
“I want to thank all the coaches I’ve had from Alevin B to the first team, the club workers (doctors, physiotherapists and all) who made our lives easier every day, the players and all the fans of this great club. I lucky to have had these things over the years.”
“This entity has made me a player but above all I have also grown personally, implementing a set of values in life that have helped me become the person I am today.”
“I’ve lived moments I could never have imagined. At Real Madrid I could play in great competitions, I’ve played with football legends, I’ve scored goals and I’ve won the Champions League.”
“Everything I have achieved is thanks to a lot of hard work, a lot of struggle and always giving everything in every training session and every game.”
“I will put Real Madrid in my heart. Hala Madrid y nada mas!”
Since breaking into the Madrid first team in 2016, Mayoral spent the following years on loan at clubs such as VfL Wolfsburg, Levante, AS Roma and Getafe.
In total, he has made just 33 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions, registering seven goals and four assists.
