Borussia Dortmund closes the opportunity for Manchester United to bring in Jadon Sancho

DBasia.news – Borussia Dortmund said they would not sell their flagship player, Jadon Sancho in the transfer market this summer. Dortmund’s decision at the same time closed the opportunity for European giants including Manchester United who wanted to bring in the English player.

Sancho was previously the target of a number of top clubs including Manchester United who wanted to sign him to play in the Premiere League.

“We plan to have Jadon Sancho with our team this season, the decision is final. I think that answers all the questions,” Dortmund sporting director, Michael Zorc told reporters in Switzerland.

The England national team player has had a brilliant season with the Bundesliga runners-up and has been said to be the target of a number of top clubs, including Manchester United.

“Last summer we adjusted Jadon’s salary to match his performance development. So in this context, we have extended the contract to 2023 since then,” said Zorc.

Sancho scored 17 league goals and set up 16 assists. Dortmund said they would only let him go if their price expectations for the player were met by potential buyers.

United have been widely rumored to be recruiting Sancho but media reports suggest that the club has been stuck with the 120 million euros set by Dortmund.

That would make him the most expensive transfer in the Bundesliga and would make Germany’s top division lose the young player they were most excited about.

However, on Monday, Sancho flew with his team to Switzerland to start a pre-season training. The Bundesliga will kick off the 2020-2021 season on September 18.
