DBasia.news – Bayern Munich may be one of the most feared teams in Europe. But that reputation seemed to disappear when dealing with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Monchengladbach has just continued his hobby of beating Munich when they meet at the Allianz Arena in the 2021-2022 Bundesliga, Saturday (8/1). Despite acting as a guest, Die Fohlen was able to win with a score of 2-1.

Munich started the game well after Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the 18th minute. This goal certainly added to the confidence of the Die Roten squad.

But Monchengladbach was slowly able to rise. Florian Neuhaus equalized in the 27th minute.

Four minutes later, Monchengladbach actually turned ahead. Stefan Lainer’s header was not able to be denied perfectly by Sven Ulreich.

In the remaining time, Munich dominated the game. However, Julian Nagelsmann’s team was still unable to break into the Monchengladbach goal again until the match was over.

“We were actually closer to winning than Gladbach, losing is never fun. Unlike in the DFB Pokal game, we didn’t deserve to lose today,” Nagelsmann said after the match.

This is Munich’s second defeat against Monchengladbach in a row. Last October, they were even crushed by a score of 0-5 in the DFB Pokal event.

If we look further, beating Munich has become a routine for Monchengladbach in the last few seasons. In the last five editions of the Bundesliga, they have won at least one win each season.

Luckily for Munich, this result does not really affect their position in the standings. The German giants are still very comfortable leading the Bundesliga standings.
