DBasia.news – Grieving news has come from Brazilian futsal. Douglas Nunes, the Brazilian national team futsal player, was found dead after being shot at the Rio Grande do Sul, Sunday (11/8) local time.
According to reports from the AS, Nunes was shot after leaving the bar in Erechim, a few hours after his team, Corinthians, played in the semi-finals of the Copa de Brasil futsal.
“The Corinthians sports club regrets the death of Douglas Nunes, from our futsal team, who was shot dead at dawn. Our prayers for the family and friends to be strengthened at this difficult time,” a Corinthians statement said.
Added by reports from O Globo, the 27-year-old player, who had played against Atlantico in the semifinals, was shot several times by the suspect who used a vehicle after he left the bar.
According to local witness reports, Nunes was involved in an argument in the neighborhood. It is suspected that this had something to do with the motives of the person who shot Nunes. Nunes’ life was unsaveable even though the medical team had arrived at the location.
CBFS, as the Brazilian Futsal Federation, immediately postponed the final match between Atlantico and Carlos Barbosa as a form of mourning for the death of Douglas Nunes.
Douglas is the brother of Adalberto Nunes da Silva ‘Betao’ who has played futsal in Santiago (2004-2008) and Inter Movistar (2008-2013).
The shooting that occurred in the open area further strengthens the status of Brazil as the most dangerous country in the world.
As of January 2016, the Mexican Community Council for Public Safety and Criminal Justice (Council of the Citizens’ Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice), stated that of the 50 cities in the world, 21 of the most dangerous cities is in Brazil.
