Bulgaria Supporters Attack Two British Players with Racial Actions

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  In the midst of the 2020 Cup Qualifiers match against Bulgaria, Tuesday (10/15) AM, England had experienced a bad incident due to unpleasant events caused by the actions of the home team supporters.

The match was briefly stopped twice by the referee who led the match. This is because the host supporters repeatedly sang racial chants aimed at the black English players.

Quoted from Sky Sports, reporter, Rob Dorsett, who covered the match admitted clearly hearing racial singing from Bulgarian supporters.

In fact, he said it was repeated throughout the first round. Especially when Marcus Rashford, Tyrone Mings or other black players have the ball.

“I heard one of the fans clearly shouting” Hey, monkey “when Rashford made a pass,” reports Dorsett, who is a Sky Sports reporter.

The incident also appeared to be of particular concern to the captain of the Bulgarian team, Ivelin Popov. When the first half was over, he had a few minutes to talk with supporters to stop their negative actions.

One Sky Sports pundit, Roy Keane also stated that the incident was totally unjustified and utterly terrible. “That’s terrible. They must’ve felt physically ill to be hearing it, “said Keane.

Earlier in 2012, Bulgarian supporters have also been sanctioned with a similar case. At that time, they mentioned racial comments towards three English players namely Ashley Young, Ashley Cole and Theo Walcott when the two teams met. As a result, the Bulgarian football federation also received sanctions from UEFA of Rp 622 million.

The match between Bulgaria and England in the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers itself ended with a landslide victory for the Three Lions with a score of 6-0. The goals from England were scored by Ross Barkley (2), Raheem Sterling (2), Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane.
