DBasia.news –  Chelsea drew 2-2 against Burnley in Week 35 of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, Tuesday (23/4) WIB. Chelsea’s young striker, Callum Hudson-Odoi, was injured in the match and the season is certain to end for him.

The four goal scorers were scored by N’Golo Kante, Gonzalo Higuain, Jeff Hendrick and Ashley Barnes. Hudson-Odoi appeared as a starter in the match and was replaced in the 41st minute by Pedro because of an injury.

Chelsea medical staff are still checking the condition of the club’s academy products. But Hudson-Odoi, via his @ Calteck10 Twitter account, confirmed his season had ended due to a severe fracture of the achilles in his leg.

“It’s really hard to end my season with a cracked Achilles, have to work hard and try to come back much stronger next season!” Hudson-Odoi said.

Added by Gianfranco Zola, Chelsea’s assistant manager, his team will undergo further checks to see Hudson-Odoi’s injury. It is expected that from the results of the examination Chelsea will know how long the recovery will take.

“This is not a minor injury, I think the injury is serious. It is in the Achilles tendon. I cannot tell you the time of recovery. I do not know – he will undergo an examination, but the injury is not good. I do not know if it is a fracture,” Zola explained .

The injury was clearly a blow to Gareth Southgate, the England national team coach, ahead of the League of Nations European semi-final against the Netherlands. Hudson-Odoi was injured following the injury of Harry Kane some time ago when strengthening Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Hudson-Odoi had become hot news in the winter transfer market in January 2019. Rarely having playing time has made him want to leave Stamford Bridge and Bayern Munich, reportedly, had offered three times at Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi’s contract expires next year with Chelsea and the club tries to extend his contract. Hudson-Odoi is considered to have a bright future with Chelsea and the club does not want to let him go so as not to become a blunder like Jadon Sancho, who was released by Man City to Borussia Dortmund and is now growing rapidly in Germany.
