Carles Perez Helped Barcelona Beat Vissel Kobe

DBasia.news –  Great performance was shown by La Masia alumni, Carles Perez, when buying two Barcelona winning goals over Vissel Kobe in the preseason test match at Misaki Park Stadium, Saturday (27/7).

The 21-year-old player has become an oasis in the middle of the desert with a lack of La Masia products that stood out in the first team. Perez only entered in the second round and played two roles: wing attackers and false nine.

The first goal in the 59th minute was created through Perez’s neat collaboration with Brazilian player, Malcom. Through one-two short passes, Perez successfully hit Kobe’s goal.

Then for the second goal that was created in the 86th minute, Perez showed a smart movement in the role of a pseudo striker. Starting from the attack that Frenkie de Jong built, Perez scored from a narrow angle.

In the match, Perez performed alongside other La Masia academy products such as Riqui Puig, Ronald Araujo, Carles Alena, Ramon Rodriguez Jimenez, and Guillem Jaime. Valverde is thrilled to see their development.

“Giving these players (from La Masia) the chance and (scoring or assisting) a goal is good. They put themselves as an alternative. We are happy with them,” Valverde was quoted as saying by Marca.

“We see who can be relied on when LaLiga starts and the real matches begin. Good academy players appear with great performances,” he added.

Barcelona’s victory over Kobe came after they lost 1-2 to Chelsea at Saitama Stadium. In the next match, Barcelona will face Arsenal on Monday (5/8), in a match titled Joan Gamper Trophy.

“We have good feelings after being in Japan; there are a number of things we can use. Today’s heat and humidity is great. I am happy because we carried out the plan to play well, only the absence of (Gerard) Pique as a preventative action (from injury), “Valverde explained..
