DBasia.news – Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said that Real Madrid will also be supported by Everton fans in the Champions League final on Sunday (29/5). Ancelotti has been enjoying a dream of his first season back at the Santiago Bernabeu after leaving the Toffees earlier this season.
But even without spending a long time on Merseyside, Ancelotti feels deeply loved and in love with the Premier League club, and the Reds rivals are seen as going to give Los Blancos full support.
“I know the Everton fans are behind us tomorrow,” the manager told reporters at his press conference.
“There is huge competition on Merseyside.”
“I have good memories of my time in the city of Liverpool, at the Blue side, and I’m sure they will support me tomorrow.”
He has had a long and illustrious history in the Champions League.
He previously lifted the trophy with Milan in 2003 and 2007 and with Madrid in 2014. However, he has also lost, namely the 2005 final against Liverpool, which ended in defeat on penalties.
“I remember all the finals before, it was hard to believe that where we played so well, [against Liverpool] was my only loss,” he added.
“I’m definitely not going to tell the players to play badly to get a better chance of winning, but anything can happen.”
“By playing well you have a bigger chance of winning, but you can’t control everything in football.”
