Carlo Ancelotti relives the BBC trident at Real Madrid

DBasia.news – Carlo Ancelotti is entering his second term in charge of Real Madrid after previously coaching in mid 2013-2015. Ancelotti will start coaching from 2021 after the club was previously managed by Zinedine Zidane.

His first spell in Madrid even without the LaLiga title was spent successfully winning the Copa del Rey, Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup. The Champions League title is special because it is Madrid’s 10th trophy in Europe and ended the long wait.

One of Madrid’s strengths at that time was their attacking trio, which consisted of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema, which was shortened to the BBC trio. Among them only Bale and Benzema remained.

Nevertheless regeneration continues and now Ancelotti is relying on a new axis on the front lines. Ancelotti, according to Marca, is rebuilding the BBC trio by relying on a new trident up front.

The three players are Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes. Two key players from Brazil and one from France. Vinicius and Rodrygo penetrated from the flanks and Benzema as a central striker.

Ancelotti has Bale and Eden Hazard as two senior and experienced players, but he prefers Vinicius and Rodrygo as Benzema’s companions up front.

It worked fine. Vinicius, Benzema and Rodrygo have started 12 times together as starters with a record of nine wins and three draws. The combination of the three has also produced 14 goals from a total of 26 Madrid goals in the 4-3-3 tactic.

With Madrid still participating in the Champions League, LaLiga and the Copa del Rey, it will be interesting to see how Madrid’s new attacking trio will perform.
