Carlo Ancelotti’s reaction when asked about Antonio Rudiger

DBasia.news – Real Madrid already had a verbal agreement with Antonio Rudiger. However, an uncertain answer was given by coach Carlo Ancelotti when asked about the certainty of the transfer of the 29-year-old defender.

Rudiger is confirmed to part with Chelsea at the end of this season as his contract is expiring and there is no renewal. This has been confirmed directly by the Blues manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Not long after, Rudiger is said to have entered into a personal agreement with Madrid. Even though a number of other big clubs such as Manchester United to Barcelona were also linked with him.

Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement from Madrid. Ancelotti even answered this rumor jokingly when asked after the match against Manchester City in the first leg of the 2021-2022 Champions League semifinal, Wednesday (27/4).

“Toni Rudiger? Who is Toni? Who is he?” said Ancelotti with a smile in an interview with BeIN Sports.

“He’s still a Chelsea player. I can’t say anything about this.”

Ancelotti said so with reason. Rudiger is still under contract with Chelsea until next summer.

Announcing Rudiger’s arrival was certainly something impolite. Moreover, the player was brought in for free.

In addition, the announcement of Rudiger’s arrival could affect the changing rooms of both teams. Even though Chelsea and Madrid still have targets to pursue until the end of the season.
