DBasia.news – AS Monaco midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, vents about his experience playing under Antonio Conte when he was at Chelsea.
Conte does have a clear philosophy of the game. He almost always uses a three-parallel back formation and relies on the wing-backs to attack.
With this approach, Conte has brought Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan to domestic league titles. This is a testament to how powerful his game philosophy is.
Fabregas called Conte a very detailed coach. It made him feel uncomfortable while playing.
‘I think with Antonio, it’s the first time I’ve seen someone know exactly (what they want). I promise you, he will tell you what to do from goalkeeper until you score,” Fabregas told CBS Sport.
“The way is different from the way I see football. In the beginning, it was difficult for me because there was a lot of running and a lot of intensity.”
Another thing that makes it difficult for Fabregas to play under Conte is his behavior in matches. The tactician did not hesitate to give instructions to his troops almost throughout the game.
Fabregas did not feel comfortable with it. The freedom to improvise on the pitch seems to be erased.
“I have a coach like Pep (Guardiola) who has a lot of details in the positions of the players but we have freedom in this. With Conte, the freedom doesn’t exist because he tells me where to pass the ball.”
“I was 29 at the time, had played 13 years, played in finals and won a lot. But this guy told me where to pass the ball.”
