Chelsea Extends Armando Broja Contract

DBasia.news – Despite having signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Chelsea are still thinking about the future. They extended Armando Broja’s contract.

Armando Broja has officially extended the duration of his contract for the next six years with Chelsea until 2028. The Blues seem to start thinking about the future by tying the length of the player who will just enter the age of 21.

Previously, it was believed that Broja would be sold by Chelsea in the summer market this year. In fact, he performed quite well by scoring six goals while on loan at Southampton last season.

Three teams, namely West Ham, Newcastle, and Everton are reportedly interested in using the services of Broja. However, until the close of the transfer market, the three did not really provide an attractive offer for Chelsea.

This season, Broja himself has appeared three times, all of which have become substitutes. However, the opportunity for Broja to appear is very open, because Chelsea do not have the figure of a striker with the traditional No.9 type in the squad now.

Broja himself admitted that he was very happy because he could continue to stay at the club he had defended from an early age. Broja’s career with Chelsea began in 2018, but was loaned out to Vitesse and Southampton.

“I’m at a loss for words really just thinking about it. This is the club I’ve dreamed of playing for my whole life, the club I support and love. I’ve been here since I was a kid so it’s a surreal feeling for me and my family,” said Broja.

The extension of Broja’s contract also includes the new owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly. He did not hesitate to mention that Broja is included in the long-term plan that has been carried out by Chelsea.

“We are delighted that Armando has committed to Chelsea. He is a young and exciting striker and a big part of our plans going forward.”
