DBasia.news – Chelsea extended Fikayo Tomori’s contract for the next five years. This made the young Chelsea defender very happy. Tomori also admitted he did not want to defend any club and hoped to become a Chelsea legend.
Tomori officially got a new contract from the management of The Blues on Friday (12/13) early this morning. Under the contract, Tomori will play in West London at least until the upcoming 2024.
“I want to be able to win a lot of trophies here. Because it will be a very sweet memory when I hang up my shoes later,” said Fikayo Tomori as quoted from the official Chelsea website.
“Personally, I just want to show my best ability here. I want to play well, win trophies, and become a Chelsea legend. I certainly expect a lot from the long-term contract that I just signed,” Tomori added.
Tomori is a genuine product of the Chelsea academy. The 21-year-old has joined the Blues academy since he was eight years old. He also was loaned out to Hull City, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Derby County.
Now, Tomori is one of the mainstays behind Frank Lampard. In total, he has collected 16 appearances in all competitions. Thanks to a solid performance, the Blues successfully advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League and perched in the fourth position in the Premier League standings.
