DBasia.news – The 2022-2023 season has just started and two Premier League coaches have already been fired. Following Scott Parker, Bournemouth manager, is Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel.
The 49-year-old coach was dismissed just after the Blues lost in the first Champions League group match against Dinamo Zagreb, Tuesday (06/09). Chelsea lost 0-1 in Croatia and it continued the club’s inconsistency of play.
“Chelsea Football Club have parted ways with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel,” read a statement on Chelsea’s official website.
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to express its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club. Thomas will have a place in Chelsea’s history having won the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time here.”
“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the club, and as they continue to work hard to take the club forward, the new owners believe this is the right time to make this transition.”
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will be responsible for the team’s training and preparation for our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach. There will be no further comment until the appointment of a new head coach is made.”
Tuchel was appointed in January 2021 to coach Chelsea after previously managing Borussia Dortmund and PSG. The effect was instant as the club won the Champions League afterwards, plus won the European Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Last season Tuchel also led Chelsea to reach the League Cup and FA Cup finals and finish third in the Premier League. But this season after six games in the Premier League and one in the Champions League, Tuchel was dismissed.
Tuchel was considered to have failed to handle Todd Boehly’s Chelsea, who had been trying to recruit players from Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, until recently signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
