DBasia.news – England football expert Craig Burley thinks Manchester United’s chance to qualify for the Champions League next season would depend on the rival, Chelsea, during the winter transfer market.
Manchester United cut the 11 point gap with the Champions League zone under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This time, Romelu Lukaku and friends are in the sixth position of Premier League temporary table.
However, even though they won the match against Tottenham Hotspur, Man United haven’t played against Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea. But, it’s not about the remaining matches.
Burley thinks Man United would face difficulty if Chelsea could sign the new striker during the January transfer market. One of the candidates is Gonzalo Higuain.

“If Chelsea don’t sort their striker situation out… What have they got left, a couple of weeks (of the January transfer market)? If Chelsea sort their front-line out, I don’t think they will,” Burley said cited by Express.
“It’s a wake-up call for Chelsea and [owner Roman] Abramovich. I don’t know what Maurizio Sarri would be doing but I’d hope he’s knocking on the door, saying: ‘Listen we’ve got to get somebody in, we’ve got to spend.”
However, Burley thinks Chelsea could exceed the fourth position. He thinks the competition with Man United would be more intense if they got eliminated from the Europe competition.
“’We’re not going to get higher than fourth. We’re going to have at least Man United on our tail,” Burley said.
