Chelsea Player Positive for Affected Covid-19

DBasia.news –  Chelsea issued an official statement that their young player, Callum Hudson-Odoi, tested positive for the covid-19 virus. The Blues will take a number of further actions so that no more players would be affected by the virus.

Callum Hudson-Odoi showed symptoms of fever on Monday morning (9/3). Chelsea swiftly asked the player to do a test. After the results came out, the 19-year-old was tested positive for the corona virus.

“The Chelsea team’s son, Callum Hudson-Odoi has positive results for the corona virus. Chelsea players who have recently made close contact with the player will be isolated in accordance with government health guidelines,” Chelsea wrote in an official statement.

“This will include all male team players, coaching staff and a number of staff in the back room. Meanwhile, those who do not have close contact with Callum are expected to return to work in the coming days.”

Chelsea will also close a number of buildings on the training ground. Meanwhile, Stamford Bridge and other facilities will operate as usual.

“Callum showed symptoms similar to those of a mild cold on Monday morning and has not been on the training ground since then as a precautionary measure. However, the test results were positive and he will undergo a period of isolation,” explained Chelsea.

“We will continue to comply with government and public health body guidelines regarding facilities and staff. We will discuss the next steps in relation to the upcoming matches in the Premier League.”

“We hope Callum will recover soon and will welcome him back at the club,” concluded the Blues.

Before Callum Hudson-Odoi, the corona virus had also contracted Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta. The Premier League is rumored to be holding an emergency meeting to discuss the continuity of the competition.
