Chelsea

DBasia.news –  The Blues, Chelsea, are the last team to ensure a ticket to the 2018-19 Europa League final. Chelsea beat the German team Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday (10/5) early morning Western Indonesian Time on penalties.

Playing at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea brought away goal capital after appearing 1-1 in the first leg. The result, the Blues believe in playing aggressively.

Willian, Eden Hazard, and Olivier Giroud trio appeared on the front lines. While Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho helped attack from Chelsea’s second row.

The strategy was quite successful because Chelsea scored first. Ruben Loftus-Cheek made a name on the scoreboard when the match went 28 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Chelsea goalkeeper collapsed when the second half had only been running for four minutes. Luka Jovic put the ball into the home team’s goal which was escorted by Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The 2-2 aggregate score ended until the normal time. The new game ended after continuing to the penalty shootout because there were no additional goals throughout the extra time.

Two Frankfurt kickers, Martin Hinteregger and Goncalo Paciencia failed to carry out their duties. While from the Blues only Cesar Azpilicueta did not score.

These results make Chelsea always win three penalties at Stamford Bridge. However, this is the first time they have done it in European competition.

Besides that, there are not many Europa League semifinals which ended with a shootout. Throughout history, there have only been two matches before Chelsea against Frankfurt.
