Chelsea’s Transfer Targets for January 2020

DBasia.news –   Chelsea are free to recruit new players in January 2020 after sanctions from FIFA were lifted.

Previously, Chelsea received a penalty from FIFA in the form of a ban on registering new players on two transfer markets. The sentence was given as the Blues brought in players under the age of 18 years old.

Chelsea, who had been sentenced once in the transfer market last summer, then appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The result were positive.

“CAS found that Chelsea did violate Article 19.1 relating to international transfers of minors and 19.3 relating to the first registration of minors under RSTP,” the CAS statement said.

The CAS also added that they only found about one third of the violations declared by FIFA.

“In addition, other violations of RSTP (Rules on Player Status and Transfers) are found to be less serious than those attributed to Chelsea FC by FIFA.”

That way, Chelsea are able to disburse funds to bring players in the upcoming exchange. The following are the five players included in the Blues’ target:

Callum Wilson

Callum Wilson became one of the players associated with Chelsea. The 27-year-old striker is considered the right replacement for Olivier Giroud who no longer has a place.

Callum Wilson is the type of attacker who becomes the final destination. The Bournemouth player have prominent and strong physical strength in air duels.

Chelsea is predicted to bring in the striker if they provide the right offer. Transfermarkt estimates Wilson’s worth is 30 million euros.

Moussa Dembele

The next players still comes from the front lines. Chelsea are reportedly targeting Olympique Lyon striker, Moussa Dembele.

Like Wilson, Dembele is a center forward who is tasked with completing chances. Although being 23 years old, Wilson had already scored 10 goals.

Moussa Dembele is predicted to have no difficulty adapting to the English football climate as he has played for Fulham. Dembele could be the foundation for the Blues to gain goals in the next few years.

Jadon Sancho

Chelsea in the Frank Lampard era was known to have speed when pressed. This can be further maximized by the presence of Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho is a young star who became a battle for various clubs. Reportedly, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona have their interest on the 19-year old midfielder.

Jadon Sancho is able to make attacks from Chelsea’s wing side become more colorful. The player’s abilities in individual duels can also be useful. Lampard, who is accustomed to managing young players, is predicted to have no difficulty in making Sancho shine even more.

One of the obstacles in bringing in Jadon Sancho is the value of the English national team player. Reportedly, Borussia Dortmund has installed a tag of 100 million euros.

Wilfried Zaha

The next player to enter Chelsea’s radar is Wilfried Zaha. The former Manchester United became one of the most sought after properties in England.

Wilfried Zaha has the advantage when stabbing into the heart of the opponent’s defense. With individual abilities, the 27-year-old player is able to pass through a number of opponents and open space for other players.

Last summer, Wilfried Zaha was rumored to be the target of Arsenal. However, because the value set by Crystal Palace was too high, the agreement was never reached.

Ruben Dias

Besides the center and front, the Chelsea defense sector also needs additional ammunition. One of the defenders on the Blues purchase list is Benfica’s Ruben Dias.

Ruben Dias is one of the talented young defenders owned by Portugal. Supported with an ideal posture, Dias became a doorstop that is challenging to break.

Ruben Dias is able to increase Lampard’s choice when Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen were not in the best condition or unable to appear.

Based on the circulating news, Chelsea had sent talent scouts to watch Ruben Dias’s action firsthand. That is a strong indication that the 22-year-old defender is a name considered by the Blues.
