Chris Smalling Wants to Stay Long in Italy

DBasia.news –  Manchester United defender Chris Smalling said he would be happy to extend his presence in Italy if his one-season loan agreement at AS Roma was successful.

Smalling was thrown from Old Trafford following the arrival of Harry Maguire as the most expensive defender in the world, from Leicester City.

The 29-year-old center-back was taken to Rome to fill the empty space left by Kostas Manolas. Smalling claimed to want a permanent contract in Rome.

“This is an opportunity that comes to me that I am very interested in, I am very excited to come,” Smalling said.

“This happened very fast and now I focus on the next game, build speed in training based on the manager’s method and then hope to get through a very good season.”

“If it continues and the club is happy then I can certainly see the long-term future in Italy,” Smalling said.
