Christian Eriksen Hopes that Football is like Football Manager

DBasia.news –  Christian Eriksen failed to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer. He was disappointed and hoped football was like “Football Manager”.

Eriksen, 27, has a contract expiring next year and there is no indication for the former Ajax Amsterdam player to signing a new contract. In June, Eriksen had expressed his desire to start a new adventure after six years strengthening Spurs.

Nevertheless, until the transfer window came to an end, Eriksen failed to move even though he was in demand by Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United. His failure has disappointed him. Eriksen can only hope that football is like Football Manager (players can be transferred easily).

“I hope I can determine it myself (the future), as you did in Football Manager (a football simulation game), but I unfortunately can’t do it,” Eriksen said, as reported by the Guardian.

“I think it’s not wrong (saying it’s time to start a new challenge). But this is football and you never know what happens in football. A lot of things are involved,” he added.

The player who packed 89 caps and 27 goals with the Danish national team also hopes the summer transfer market in Europe will be closed simultaneously. As the summer transfer market in the UK was closed earlier this year while other European countries were still open.

“I think most English clubs want the transfer market to be closed at the same time as other countries. This is a frustrating situation for the coach when he doesn’t know what player he has,” Eriksen added.

“I want to play the whole game (from the start of the season), but you would have to ask my coach (why Eriksen isn’t played),” he concluded.
