DBasia.news – Manchester United under the direction of Erik ten Hag are looking for the best players to fix the squad. Several big names have also been confirmed to leave such as Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, and Paul Pobga.

United have recently been linked with two players from the Netherlands, Frenkie de Jong and Jurrien Timber.

Manchester United provided transfer funds for Ten Hag, but cheap solutions are always a consideration, especially since the Dutch manager is reportedly looking for an attacking midfielder, even though the club already has Bruno Fernandes.

Cheap solutions emerged. As quoted from the Mirror, Man United are ready to compete for Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford for Christian Eriksen. The Danish midfielder’s contract with Brentford expires at the end of June.

When Brentford signed Eriksen and signed for six months they were three points adrift of the relegation zone. Thanks to the creativity provided by the 30-year-old player, Brentford have also survived the relegation zone.

Eriksen’s future fate is now uncertain as his contract will expire. Brentford are still trying to get their serve, but Tottenham and now Man United are also targeting the former Inter Milan man.

Tottenham have the advantage because Eriksen has played there and also the club has Antonio Conte, Eriksen’s former coach at Inter. Man United are targeting Eriksen due to his experience and quality.

It was not easy for Brentford to keep Eriksen but Thomas Frank’s team did not give up.

“I know I’m optimistic, but I also called and said ‘Hey, do you (Eriksen) want to go to Brentford,” Frank said in May.

“No one thought about it six months ago. I’d be happy to say it 100%, but I believe there’s a good chance he’ll be wearing the Brentford jersey,” Frank assured.
