Christian Pulisic Must Be Aware that Chelsea Wants to Develop his Performance
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Craig Burley feels that Christian Pulisic’s position is under threat with a new recruit, although he believes the American player will have a big role to play for the Blues.
Frank Lampard has wrapped up an agreement for a transfer this summer. Hakim Ziyech will join Stamford Bridge from Ajax.
It is also claimed that the West London giant is fighting to bring in the Borussia Dortmund winger, Jadon Sancho, and Barcelona playmaker, Philippe Coutinho, if they are available in the transfer market.
The increase in creative attackers will certainly provide competition for Pulisic, who arrived in England in the summer of 2019 and only began to find his best form after having a relatively slow start.
Burley believes that the 21-year-old player could be a key player for Lampard’s squad, but feels Chelsea will look for additional attackers given Pedro and Willian’s contracts are almost up.
To ESPN, the former Blues player said, “I think Pulisic will play an important role for Chelsea next season but he will have competition to compete for a place.”
“If Chelsea under the care of Lampard wants to compete, wants to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City, they must have a deep squad because both of them already have that.”
“That is something you have to accept as a player, and you have to get up if you have a few bad matches, you might get out of the team.”
