Closing the Pre-season, AS Roma Wins 3-1 over Arezzo

AS Roma vs Arezzo

DBasia.news –  The pre-season has ended for AS Roma. Giallorossi won a landslide victory of 3-1 over Arezzo, the Serie C team on Saturday (8/17).

Goals from Diego Perotti (via penalty), Edin Dzeko and Justin Kluivert secured the perfect result for the team cared by Paulo Fonseca, who actually scored two other goals which were then disallowed by the referee.

Arezzo midfielder, Niccolo Belloni, contributed a goal for the home team. He equalized through a kick from the spot, moments after Perotti had put Roma ahead.

After Edin Dzeko’s and Nicolo Zaniolo’s goals were ruled out for offside, the Giallorossi had to wait until the second half to break the deadlock at the Stadio Citta in Arezzo, shortly after Zaniolo was brought down in the forbidden box.

Perotti who executed the penalty perfectly, seemed to have made the game more opened – a few moments later, Arezzo evened the score through a similar method, namely through a 12 fitting kick.

However, Roma got up and thanks to Dzeko’s hard work, soon the team was able to get back ahead. When substitute, Kluivert, netted the goal after pushing the ball up from Mirko Antonucci’s effort, Giallorossi made sure the preseason ended without defeat.

Fonseca’s squad are now preparing for the official match. The Giallorossi will host Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico in the Serie A opener this season next Sunday.

Line-up for Roma against Arezzo: Pau Lopez; Florenzi (Santon), Fazio, J. Jesus (Mancini), Kolarov (Spinazzola); Cristante, Diawara (Pellegrini); Cengiz (Defrel), Zaniolo (Antonucci), Perotti (Kluivert); Dzeko (Schick).
