DBasia.news – New Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte insists there is still much to be done in his new team. Conte said it needed drastic improvements.
The 52-year-old Italian coach Conte opened his career with a 3-2 win over Vitesse Arnhem in a Conference League match.
After winning, Conte acknowledged the many weaknesses seen in the match. Defensively the team appeared chaotic and the Spurs ran out of steam as Vitesse came back from 0-3 down.
Conte was blatantly unimpressed by the way his team lost control of the game. Conte admits, turning Tottenham into a team that can become champions in the Premier League is a big challenge.
“We need to work a lot to try to improve this team in many aspects. Not only tactical, but also physical. We need a bit more time to do this,” Conte said.
“I see in recent days we need a lot of work to improve the ability of all players, not just one or two or three players.”
“This club hasn’t won anything for many years and to be champions doesn’t happen after a day or two, or two months, you have to have a vision,” Conte added.
Regarding his statement, Conte refused to reveal his target for this season. “The room for improvement for this team is wide open. I hope this commitment, attitude and behavior will continue for the rest of the season.”
