DBasia.news – Norwich City swallowed a bitter pill at home when hosting Brighton and Hove Albion in the continued English League at Carrow Road Stadium, Norwich, Saturday (4/7). Norwich surrendered 0-1 from Brighton through a goal scored by Leandro Trossard. These results has made it harder for Norwich to escape relegation.

Brighton made Norwich swallow five successive defeats and is increasingly attached to the bottom of the standings unable to add to the achievement of 21 points they have. While Brighton maintained its position in 15th place, widening the safe distance from the threat of relegation to eight points.

Norwich manager, Daniel Farke instructed his players to apply high defense even when they did not have possession.

Even so, Brighton appeared more promising from the start of the match and created the opportunity three minutes into the game through Aaron Connolly’s shot that still soared above the crossbar.

Brighton opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Neal Maupay snatched the ball possession from Jamal Lewis and sent it to Aaron Mooy who surged from the right wing area.

Mooy sent a tight bait which was successfully greeted by Trossard in the area near the pole to break down the host’s goal.

Right at the end of the first half, Norwich almost responded through Emiliano Buendia’s action past Lewis Dunk and Yves Bissouma before handing the ball to Onel Hernandez, but Hernandez’s finishing shot was pushed over by goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.

Five minutes after halftime, Connolly almost doubled Brighton’s lead but a curling shot from the ball was still able to be swept away by Ben Godfrey before crossing the goal line.

On the other side of the goal it was Dunk’s turn to replace his body to block the threat that came from a volley kick from Buendia.

In the 69th minute, Bissouma fired a long distance shot that was fast but this time the ball was still able to be rescued brilliantly by goalkeeper, Tim Krul.

The 1-0 score continued to stay and Norwich had one last chance in the fifth minute of injury time when Adam Idah made a sharp header, but the ball hit the post to ensure Brighton to close the match with a narrow victory over the hosts.
