Contracted as a Manager, Niko Kovac Ready to Bring AS Monaco to the Top of Ligue 1
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AS Monaco officially contracted Niko Kovac as the new manager for the 2020-2021 season to replace Robert Moreno. Kovac claimed to be ready to bring Les Rouge et Blanc to triumph again in Ligue 1.
Moreno failed to bring Les Monegasques to compete in the top three standings this season. Practically, the entry of Kovac gave a signal that Monaco are ready to compete with Olympique Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to win the Ligue 1 title next season.
“The reason is, AS Monaco is a big club, with great traditions and the last years were not as successful as they had hoped here. So, my goal is to bring AS Monaco back to the top of the French League,” Kovac said as reported by Sportskeeda on Wednesday (22 / 7).
Kovac’s arrival in Monaco made him re-train for the first time since being dismissed by the German Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich, in November last year.
The 48-year-old manager said he needed to adjust his approach at Monaco, which is scheduled to start the Ligue 1 competition against Stade Reims on August 23rd.
“Every coach has his own philosophy, his own thoughts about football. Obviously we have to adapt, have to look, have to take a team or player review, so we can choose the right tactics,” said Kovac.
