Covid-19 Pandemic Spreads, La Liga Stops Competitions

DBasia.news –  The LaLiga authorities are taking steps to stop the 2019/20 season competition indefinitely. This decision was taken considering the number of deaths in Spain due to the corona virus pandemic or COVID-19 has continued to increase.

The LaLiga match has been stopped since the first weekend of March. At that time the delay was carried out for two weeks.

Observing at the latest situation, LaLiga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) say that there will be no professional competition in Spain until the government says otherwise.

“The Monitoring Commission formed by RFEF-LaLiga currently approves the suspension of professional football competitions until the Spanish Government authorities gives the green light without any health risks,” LaLiga and RFEF said in a joint statement, reported by Sky Sports.

“Both RFEF and LaLiga would like to express our greatest gratitude to all those who dedicate their best efforts to provide services to the citizens of Spain and also express their condolences to all those who have died and the warm welcome from the world of football to many families who have lost their loved ones.”

At present more than 2,000 people have died in Spain due to COVID-19, according to the latest famount released on Monday (3/23).
