Cristiano Ronaldo Competes with Lionel Messi at the Globe Soccer Awards

DBasia.news –  Competing with his rival, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo was included in the award winning candidate for Best Player of the Globe Soccer Awards. Aside from Messi, the Juventus superstar will also compete with Bernaldo Silva and four other Liverpool players.

Quoted from Football-Italy, Ronaldo became a strong candidate to win it along with Messi, Silva, as well as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, and Virgil van Dijk, in a gala ceremony to be held in Dubai on December 29, 2019.

In the previous edition, Ronaldo won it along with the Globe Soccer 433 Fans’ Award category. In total, the 34-year-old has won it five times – three times in a row in mid 2016-2018.

Ronaldo joined Juventus in the summer of 2018 with a club transfer record of 112 million euros and he scored 21 goals in Serie A 2018-19, plus six goals in the Champions League. This season Ronaldo has only scored five goals for the Bianconeri.

Additional assessment for Ronaldo is his success in bringing Juventus to win eight consecutive Scudetto, as well as bringing the Portugal national team to the championship inaugural edition of the UEFA Nations League.

In addition to the Best Player award, Globe Soccer Awards also handed out prizes for other nominations such as: Best Club, Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper, Best Agent, Best Player Career, Best Special Career, and Best Sports Director.

In the category of nomination for the Best Coach there are Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool), Erik ten Hag (Ajax Amsterdam), Djamel Belmadi (Algeria national team), Fernando Santos (Portugal national team), and former Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri.
