Cruzeiro Relegated for the First Time

DBasia.news –  Cruzeiro was relegated from the Brazilian first division for the first time in 98 years of the club’s history after losing 0-2 against Palmeiras.

The club, headquartered in Belo Horizonte, lastly became the league champion out of a total of four times, in 2014.

The club was thrown into the second division after ending the season with five defeats in a row.

The match itself was abandoned by the club’s players five minutes before normal time ended after Palmeiras scored his second goal of the match.

They decided to leave the pitch as their supporters angrily removed the audience seats and threw them at the players when fans fought in the stands.

Riot police eased the commotion by firing tear gas.
