DBasia.news – Danny Welbeck has undergone his second surgery after the injury in the match for Arsenal. The Gunners also announced the official statement regarding Welbeck’s injury, but he won’t support Arsenal in the near future.
Welbeck got a severe injury in the match between Arsenal against Sporting CP of 2018-2019 Europa League. On Sunday (11/11), The Gunners manager Unai Emery explained that the player still needs time to recover.
The 27-year-old player conducted the surgery on Friday (9/11). Despite the successful result, Arsenal still don’t know when Welbeck could return to the pitch.
“Further to sustaining an injury last Thursday against Sporting CP, Danny has undergone a second planned operation on his right ankle,” Arsenal stated in the official release.
“Both procedures went well, without complications. Danny will now recuperate and start his rehabilitation. It’s too early to say how long this will take,” the statement continued.
“Everyone at the club will now be providing Danny with the best possible treatment and support in order to make him fit again as soon as possible,” The Gunners emphasized.
Arsenal signed Danny Welbeck from Manchester United with £18M transfer fee on September 2014. This season, Welbeck played for 14 caps with 5 goals and 1 assist.
