DBasia.news – Bayern Munich defender, David Alaba has reportedly reached an agreement with Real Madrid. But the new defender will join the start of the 2021/2022 season.

However, that does not mean that Madrid have not prepared plans to bring in players, especially in the transfer market this winter. One of the players who are reportedly getting closer to come to Madrid is David Alaba.

The 28 year old player’s contract expires at the end of the season with Bayern Munich. In that situation David Alaba can go free at the end of the season or be sold to Bayern this January if there is no new contract deal.

The news from Marca revealed that Alaba had agreed to personally head to Madrid under Zinedine Zidane’s direction. However, confirmation from his agent confirms Alaba is still focused on Hans-Dieter Flick’s Bayern this season.

The Austrian player has played for Bayern from 2010 after being promoted from the Bayern academy. Alaba could be a good signing if he really went to Madrid. Why is that?

First, Alaba is a versatile player who can play as a left-back, center and defensive midfielder. In that case, he could directly fill Sergio Ramos’ place (if absent), Marcelo, who appeared unstable, and overlaid Casemiro.

Then the next one is Alaba who is full of experience and quality with 76 caps and 14 goals with the Austrian national team. Especially at Bayern he has won two Champions League titles and nine Bundesliga trophies.

No doubt recruiting Alaba can be a good signing for Real Madrid, even though currently the player’s salary is quite high and it is challenging for European clubs to pay him amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
