Phil Neville, coach of the British women’s national team, contributed greatly to England’s qualification for the 2019 World Cup semifinals. But, Neville admitted there was another role from David Beckham behind the breakthrough.

The England Women’s national team went smoothly throughout the 2019 Women’s World Cup. The Three Lioness always won five matches in the event.

Wiping out the victory in the group phase, the England Women’s national team scored six goals throughout the knockout stages. In total, they scored 11 goals and conceded just one.

The latest, England Women’s national team won 3-0 at the 1995 Women’s World Cup champions, Norway. They won thanks to goals from Jill Scott, Ellen White, and Luca Bronze.

Apparently, David Beckham became the figure behind the success of the England Women’s national team to qualify for the semifinals. According to Phil Neville, the Three Lioness squad met Beckham and his daughter, Harper, before the match.

“Before the match, we met David Beckham and his daughter, Harper. We introduced them to the England Women’s national team,” said Phil Neville.

“The arrival of David Beckham and his daughter encouraged the England Women’s national team. They felt the performance during the 2019 Women’s World Cup was quite special,” he continued.

David Beckham was not the only figure who encouraged the England Women’s national team ahead of the quarter-finals. Olympic gold medalist, Katherine Grainger, and former Arsenal, Ian Wright, did the same.
