DBasia.news – AS Roma have recruited Davide Zappacosta on loan from Chelsea. Zappacosta said he was happy to join the Giallorossi.
After a busy day with medical tests and signing of contracts, the Italian national team player sat with Roma TV to discuss his move from Chelsea.
This is what the wing-back said …
Davide, what was your first impression after joining Roma?
“I feel very happy. I am happy to be here after a difficult year for me. Being able to play again at a club like this is an interesting challenge so I am happy and can’t wait to start working with my new teammates.”
In your opinion, in what ways did you develop through the two seasons in England?
“I think I developed a lot as a person during the last two years in England. I think I have become a stronger character because I have to understand different places, different cultures, different languages, and different lifestyles. Of course, it’s not easy, but it was a very positive experience that allowed me to develop both as a person and as a player.”
When did you know Roma was interested and what was your reaction?
“I realized Roma’s interest in a few moments, but there are some things that need to be harmonized with Chelsea so I was never fully convinced that it would happen. When I got a call to say that I had the opportunity to come here I immediately said yes because this is a great opportunity. I want to give everything I have for this club, starting tomorrow.”
