Defeated by RB Leipzig, Thomas Tuchel is afraid of being fired by Paris-Saint Germain

DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) failed to win their second victory in the 2020-2021 Champions League when they visited RB Leipzig headquarters. This failure has threatened Thomas Tuchel’s position as coach.

In a match that took place at Red Bull Arena, PSG were defeated by a narrow score of 1-2. However, Les Parisiens had to finish the match with nine players after Idrissa Gueye and Presnel Kimpembe were sent off by the referee.

Even though PSG had the lead in this match through Angel Di Maria’s goal in the sixth minute. However, the Argentine winger missed a penalty ten minutes later.

Di Maria’s failure had to be paid as RB Leipzig was able to get up and reverse the position. The home teams two goals were scored by Christopher Nkunku (42 ‘) and a penalty from Emil Forsberg (57’).

This situation seemed to have made the PSG players under pressure. This made Gueye and Kimpembe careless which resulted in a second yellow card.

The defeat to RB Leipzig threatens PSG’s chances of escaping from the group phase. This also automatically threatens Tuchel’s position in the coaching chair.

But Tuchel is confident he will be able to get PSG out of this difficult situation. He is also not afraid of being fired like the previous coaches.

“We faced the team that led the Bundesliga last week, who were very strong and played a good game. We could have been leading 2-0, but then it was difficult with ten players,” Tuchel told RMC.

“I get the impression that the press and the environment are very critical, but that doesn’t change my work with the team, nor with my staff. This is the life of a coach in Paris, but I have no problems.”

The Chamapions League trophy has been PSG’s main target since it was led by Qatari tycoon, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. He will not hesitate to fire a big-name coach even if he fails to fulfill his ambition.

Tuchel’s position was saved last season as he was able to bring PSG to the final. But this season appears to be his last chance to gain status as the best club in Europe.
