Defeating Sassuolo, Edin Dzeko Ask AS Roma to Improve Playing

DBasia.news –  AS Roma’s 4-2 victory over Sassuolo did not make the Roma striker, Edin Dzeko, satisfied.

Dzeko scored the second goal that night when Roma won their first win of the season, with Bryan Cristante, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Justin Kluivert also scoring before halftime.

However, Sassuolo scored twice in the second half and Dzeko acknowledged that the team needed to work even harder to ensure that did not happen in the coming match.

“I am happy with the victory but we should be able to play better in the second half,” said Dzeko.

“But the main thing is the team wins and ensures that we must continue to grow.”

He added: “We relaxed a little after winning 4-0 – even though the coach told us not to relax the game when he spoke during the break. I think the same thing happened this afternoon in the Brescia match against Bologna [Brescia led 3-1 in the first round, but lost 4-3]. Feels the same for us, we had a little hassle in the second half.”

“Physically there may be a slight decline with the course of action like this, given the hot weather and the fact that many of us have just returned from joint duties with the country. But, we will take the moment of this victory and look forward, hoping not to repeat what happened in the second half. But we are playing well.”

“After winning 4-0 we lost the ball too much, maybe because we also tried to attack more directly. But, we have scored four goals, the team can even increase the advantage, and we need to ensure that we will continue to develop game by game.”

This match will probably be remembered because of Mkhitaryan’s debut goal, in which the Armenian made a strong first impression in Italian football.

“Mkhitaryan is a great player, he plays for many top teams,” Dzeko said.

“Before the match, I told him: You scored two goals against Bosnia, now you need to help Roma win. His debut went well, but the more he united with the team, the better he will be.
