Defeating the Hosts, Leicester Wins Eight-Streak Victory

DBasia.news –  In the matchday 16 of the English League, Leicester City continued their winning streak after defeating host, Aston Villa 4-1 at Villa Stadium, Park, Sunday (12/08/2019).

The victory was supported by Jamie Vardy assisted by Kelechi Iheanacho and Jonny Evans, while Villa were only able to reply once through Jack Grealish, according to the official English League page.

Leicester’s eighth successive win now has a total of 38 points and again cutting Liverpool’s lead distance (46) at the top of the standings to eight points, while Villa (15) are held at 17t place after being over Everton (17) a day earlier.

Brendan Rodgers’ side appeared to be pressing since the start of the match and in the 20th minute Vardy opened the visitors’ lead with a second chance shot after receiving Iheanacho’s delivery.

The goal marks Vardy has now eight successive games to break through his opponents.

Four minutes before halftime, Leicester doubled the lead after James Maddison’s cross had hit Ezri Konsa before the ball hit Iheanacho’s foot and nested into the bottom left corner of the goal.

The hosts minimized their lag in the second minute of first half injury time through Grealish’s shot to grab the ball wildly, changing the position to 1-2.

However, four minutes after the second half, Leicester continued to restore the two-goal lead to take advantage of a corner kick when Evans headed Maddison’s cross.

Unsatisfied with the advantage, Leicester enlarged it to 4-1 through Vardy’s second goal which broke into the penalty box after receiving feedback by Dennis Praet and fired hard which was unable to be stopped by goalkeeper, Tom Heaton.
