DBasia.news – Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata revealed that Los Rojiblancos is a special club for him. Morata feels happier playing with Diego Simeone’s club than the other top teams.
This is quite surprising considering the name Morata was first known when strengthening Madrid. He also briefly defended two big European clubs namely Juventus and Chelsea.
There is a long story behind this. Morata came to that conclusion after ups and downs building his professional career.
“When I was little, I was a ballboy at Atletico. After that exciting phase, I just realized that the way young people become professional players is really hard,” Morata said in an interview on Instagram Live with tennis player, Fabio Fognini.
Morata studied at the Atletico academy when he was 13 years old. Then he crossed to the Getafe academy, then Real Madrid.
Together with Madrid, Morata made his professional debut in 2010 when he was 18 years old. Although happy, but there are feelings that block in his heart.
“Next thing I know, I moved to Real Madrid. This is hard because my father dreamed of seeing me perform at Vicente Calderon,” he continued.
“In the end, I was able to perform at Atletico’s old home even though not with the status of an Atletico player. I still tried to enjoy life and apparently nothing could make me happier than defending Atletico.”
Together with Atletico, Morata slowly showed his quality as an attacker. This season he has scored 12 goals and three assists before the competition was postponed due to the corona virus.
