DBasia.news – The Serie A 2019-20 competes in the race for the Scudetto. Inter Milan and Lazio has become Juventus competitors. Former Serbian national team midfielder, Dejan Stankovic gave his support to the two teams.
The Serie A 2019-2020 is tight. Before the competition was halted due to the corona virus pandemic, Juventus topped the standings after reaping 63 points.
Meanwhile, Lazio and Inter Milan trailed in second and third positions. Lazio collected 62 points, while the Nerazzurri have 54 points with one game less.
Dejan Stankovic supports the struggle of Lazio and Inter Milan to stop Juventus’ hegemony.
“Lazio or Inter? For me it is the same. I will be happy if one of them wins,” Stankovic said on the official website of Italian reliable journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio.
“I owe a lot to Lazio. I spent six magical years there. I arrived as a young player and left as a more mature player in 2004.”
Dejan Stankovic defended Lazio from 1998 to 2004. Then, he moved to Inter Milan with a dowry of 4 million euros in the winter of 2004. Stankovic became part of the La Beneamata treble squad.
“The matter of moving to Inter Milan in 2003-2004, actually I could leave for free because the contract has expired. However, Lazio do not deserve it.”
“That is the reason why I left in January so that Lazio can receive funds. That is one of the ways I thank them,” stated Stankovic.
Dejan Stankovic retired at Inter Milan in 2013. Later, the 41-year-old became assistant coach at Udinese.
