DBasia.news – Leroy Sane became one of the stars of the field when Bayern Munich defeated Schalke 04 by a landslide score of 8-0 in the Bundesliga’s inaugural match, which took place at the Allianz Arena, Saturday (19/09) WIB.
In that match, Sane contributed three of the eight goals packed by Die Bavarian. He provided the assist for Serge Gnabry’s last two goals of the match, before finally scoring to his name in the 71st minute through ball from Joshua Kimmich.
His performance was extraordinary, as this was his official debut match with Bayern Munich, after he transferred from Manchester City in the summer of 2020.
Even so, Sane admitted that he was actually not 100 percent fit in the match, as he had also just recovered from an ACL injury which had made him absent from the field in the 2019/20 season.
“It was a greatgood day, good game, lots of goals. I am thrilled. Such a start against Schalke is certainly a good one. “I’ve always wanted to go full speed, but I’m not 100 percent fit yet,” Sane told ZDF.
On the other hand, the head coach of Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick said he was satisfied with the performance shown by Leroy Sane in the match vs Schalke.
“I am satisfied with the performance. This is now a benchmark for Gnabry and Sane and the whole team, “he concluded.
