Despite successfully overthrowing West Ham, Ralf Rangnick is not satisfied

DBasia.news – Manchester United’s interim coach, Ralf Rangnick, sees that his team was still lacking despite their 1-0 win over West Ham United. According to him, there are two weak points that need to be improved.

Manchester United won 1-0 when they hosted West Ham United in the 2021-2022 Premier League continued match, at Old Trafford, Saturday (22/1). Marcus Rashford scored the winning goal for the Red Devils in injury time.

Even though his team won, Rangnick was still not satisfied. According to him, Manchester United has not been optimal when they were in control of the ball.

“From a defense standpoint, I agree. Because we didn’t give them too many chances from a normal game. As I said, the match against them will not be easy,” Rangnick explained as reported by MUTV.

“However, I’m not quite satisfied with the way we have the ball. So, that will be the next job in the next few weeks. We also have to find a solution to have better possession of the ball.”

In addition to possession, Rangnick also highlighted his team’s finishing. Rangnick asked the Manchester United players to be more patient in completing chances to become goals.

“We can’t always find a solution in the final third. In the last 20 minutes, we had a lot of shots on target when there were no chances to obtain a goal,” explained Rangnick.

“We have to be more patient. However, in the end it’s all about getting the three points,” he explained.

The victory keeps Manchester United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season. Currently, Man United are in fourth place in the standings with 38 points from 22 matches. After the international break, Cristiano Ronaldo and his team are awaited by Middlesbrough (5/2) in the FA Cup fourth round match.
