DBasia.news – Lately, Antonio Valencia seldom plays in Manchester United. It raised a question from the fans, considering Valencia was the captain and prominent right-back in Jose Mourinho era.
There’s a guess that the 33-year-old player got injured or not fit. But, Valencia denied that while playing for Ecuador national team.
“Right now I haven’t been playing, but it’s more of a tactical decision. The player who has been in my place (Ashley Young) has been playing well. You have to respect the decision,” Valencia said cited by Goal, Saturday (17/11).
“The only thing I can do is prepare and be ready for when he (Mourinho) needs me and be in the right condition to compete. I’m calm right now and I know I’ll get an opportunity to play again. The relationship with Mourinho has always been a good one,” he explained.
Indeed, there was an issue about their poor relationship due to Valencia’s act liking Instagram post demanding Man United board of directors to sack Mourinho. Due to his actions, the former Wigan Athletic player apologized and explained that he fully supports The Special One.
