Dida’s High Expectation to Alisson Becker

Alisson Becker

DBasia.news – Brasil national team have no convincing goalkeeper after Julio Cesar and Dida retired. But that happened before Alisson Becker came. The 26-year-old goalkeeper was convincing enough to be Brasil national team’s prominent goalkeeper.

His career has boosted since leaving Internacional in 2016 and joining AS Roma. The recognition of Alisson’s career could be seen by how he successfully brought Roma to Champions League semifinal.

Liverpool, who needed an additional goalkeeper after Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet didn’t perform well, made Alisson as the most expensive goalkeeper in the world by purchasing him from Roma worth £60M this summer.

He had a smooth trip with 7 clean sheets from 12 Premier League matches. Hence, he becomes Brasil’s number one goalkeeper, despite Ederson Moraes’ great performance for Manchester City.

Dida, the former Brasil goalkeeper who scored 91 caps and once collaborated with Alisson in Internacional, admits his capability.

“I like Alisson a lot, I think he is a great goalkeeper. I had the opportunity to work with him at Internacional,” Dida told Omnisport.

Dida also hopes Alisson could answer the public’s expectation by achieving a great success in Europe and Brasil national team. Just like how Dida achieved two Champions League titles with Milan and the 2002 World Cup with Brasil.

“I can see his great growth as a player. He left to Europe and now also plays for the Brazilian national team,” Nelson de Jesus Silva added.

“I hope he can become the goalkeeper they expect him to become, winning many trophies and becoming one of the best in the world,” Dida concluded.
