Didier Deschamps Apologizes to Albania for Incorrectly Playing the National Anthem

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Didier Deschamps, representing the French national team, has apologized to the Albanian national team for playing the national anthem incorrectly.

The French national team won 4-1 when they hosted Albania in the continuing 2020 European Cup Qualifying match. The match took place at the Stade de France, Paris, Saturday (7/9).

Kingsley Coman contributed two the French national team goals. While the remaining two goals were donations from Olivier Giroud and Jonathan Ikone who were only able to be replied by Sokol Cikalleshi.

However, the spotlight actually occurred for the event before the match took place. Keep in mind, the course of the kick-off was delayed a few minutes.

The reason is that the local committee incorrectly played the national anthem of the Albanian national team. Instead, they actually played the Andorra national anthem taken from the UEFA website.

After the match, Didier Deschamps also felt guilty. Deschamps understood what the Albanian national team players felt before competing.

“As part of the coach and on behalf of the substitute bench, I apologize. This is something that should not have happened. However, it has happened,” stated Didier Deschamps.

“I understand what is felt by the Albanian team. It is understandable if we end up waiting for Albania to sing their national anthem,” he added.

This has also upset the Albanian spectators present in France. They boo’d the operators in the stadium from the stands.
