Didier Deschamps gave Paul Pogba reassurance

DBasia.news – There’s no worry regarding Paul Pogba missing the Qatar 2022 World Cup due to injury as Didier Deschamps, coach of France, can ensure that his place is safe in the squad for Les Bleus.

As is known, the 29-year-old player injured his right knee during a training session with Juventus at the end of last month (July). The injury is feared to keep Pogba out of playing at the World Cup.

Pogba and Juventus also agreed not to take surgery due to the long recovery time. Pogba also took conservative treatment for the next five weeks.

Les Bleus, nickname of the French national team, would have had plenty of talented midfielders to replace Pogba, should he not recover in time. But his experience when he won the 2018 World Cup is irreplaceable and Deschamps thinks so too. Likewise with the status of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

“It is important that they (Kante and Pogba) are there, but we are never safe. Therefore, we must continue to prepare young players. Of course I continue to contact Paul. His participation in the World Cup on time is unquestionable,” Deschamps told Le Parisien.

Pogba’s treatment plan will start with him working out in the gym and pool before entering individual sessions on the pitch. Assuming everything goes according to plan, Pogba will slowly meld into Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus game.

Pogba returns to Juventus after six years with Manchester United in his second term and his contract expires. He became one of the club’s new recruits besides Angel Di Maria, Gleison Bremer, and Andrea Cambiaso.
