Diego Forlan Announces his Retirement

DBasia.news –  Former Manchester United striker, Diego Forlan, has decided to retire. He felt that this was the right time for him to retire.

Forlan began his professional career in 1997 at Independiente. He then strengthened a number of top European clubs such as Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

Forlan then grazed in Asia by strengthening Cerezo Osaka, starting in 2014. Another Asian club that he had defended was Mumbai City, before ending up at Hong Kong club, Kitchee. His last appearance for the club was on May 13, 2018.

In the Uruguay national team, Forlan has retired since 2015. He recorded 112 appearances and scored 36 goals for La Celeste.

“It’s not easy, I don’t want this moment to come, but I know this will come. I have decided to stop playing football professionally, “Forlan stated.

Through his Twitter account, Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez, immediately thanked Forlan who had guided him a lot in the Uruguay national team.
