DBasia.news – Wednesday (10/30/2019), Atletico Madrid had to settle for a 1-1 draw when it came to the Deportivo Alaves headquarters at the Mendizorrotza Stadium.
According to Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, the draw could not be separated from the good game that was only shown by foster children in the second half.
According to the Argentine coach, Alaves in the first round did play very well. Being able to suppress the Atletico backline makes it difficult for foster children to develop the game.
“Alaves are better in the first round. They are more intense attacking and aggressive. In the second half, we performed better,” Simeone was quoted as saying on the club’s official page.
“We were able to press consistently in the second half and grab several opportunities to score goals. We worked as a team in the second round, something we did not do in the first round,” said Simeone.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid player Thomas Lemar admitted that his team had enough difficulty to keep up with Alaves’s game. According to Lemar, the match with the final result 1-1 was a difficult match.
“It was a difficult match. Alaves were hard to beat in front of their public. We are indeed leading but they can equate with a good goal process.” Said the Frenchman.
