Difficulty beating Kelantan

By news-admin

DBasia.news – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) manager Benjamin Mora said he faced difficulty in defeating Kelantan who was playing a defensive pattern in the Group C Malaysia Cup match at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin last night.

However, the Mexican-born manager was relieved with the victory that ensured a slot into the knockout round after collecting six points from two victories.

In fact, he pointed out that Yusri Chel Lah’s team was hard to fight as it was lined with young players who clearly demonstrated their best for 90 minutes and often defended his men’s attempts.

“The opponents are always moving and following our players and often giving pressure so it makes it difficult for us to make a more organized attack but they are struggling to stop our attempts.

“We were in control of the game and had some good chance to score when Fernando Elizari had almost scored a goal besides Fernando Marquez there were two other opportunities but Corbin Ong also had the chance but luck was not with us.

“You see the Kelantan players are just defending and we have to go through two layers, middle and defense. The situation was obviously difficult for us and had to wait until the 65th minute to score, “he said.

When asked about the failure of JDT to make it through the set piece especially on the corner, Mora insists he will continue to look at the defense fortress will not give him free space to move.

Commenting on Gary Steven Robbat’s game pattern, Mora is clearly satisfied with the player’s commitment to block the line-up of Kelantan midfielder.

“He’s not a joke with Natxo Insa. Now we have two more matches in the opponent and our next mission is to pursue the win but we need to be careful not to get caught up with the more aggressive tactical opponents in action on their own site, “Mora said.
