Disappointed with the Referee’s Performance in the Match against Celta, Real Madrid Filed an Appeal

DBasia.news – Real Madrid picked up three points against Celta Vigo on Saturday (20/03). However, El Real felt that their victory was almost taken because of the unsatisfactory performance of the referee.

Real Madrid have been reported by Marca to appeal the maximum they can to LaLiga over the confusing decision of the referee. Two goals from Karim Benzema and goals from Marco Asensio brought them up to second place in LaLiga (before being overtaken by Barcelona).

Despite the win, Zinedine Zidane’s men felt that some decisions were detrimental to them during the match. Players were confused by the decision of referee Maria Melero Lopez.

Los Blancos were frustrated by the referee’s decision to give Celta Vigo a free kick near the penalty box which he felt could harm Madrid.

Luka Modric wanted to pass a pass to Lucas Vasquez before being given a yellow card by the referee for clashing with the Celta Vigo player.

Modric and the Real Madrid staff were confused by this decision. Luckily, Iago Aspas’ free kick hit Casemiro so he turned and hit the bar.

Zidane was also unhappy with the decision not to award a penalty after Federico Valverde was blocked on his way to Modric’s through ball. He protested angrily to the referee officials on the sidelines.

Real Madrid feel they should get a penalty in the last two LaLiga matches.
