DBasia.news – AC Milan’s financial statements in the 2018-19 season are quite sad. How not, they lose money and this is the most minor record in the history of the club.
Through documents signed by CEO Ivan Gazidis, AC Milan confirmed a loss of 145.9 million euros. The number is down 6.1 percent compared to the previous season.
There is about a difference of 20 million euros between AC Milan’s revenue for the 2018-2019 season and 2017-2018. This amount is the largest in the history of the club.
AC Milan’s total revenue also declined in the 2018-2019 season. From the previous 255.8 million euros in 2017-2018 to 241.1 million euros one season ago.
AC Milan’s revenue from player sales, sponsorships, ticket sales has decreased. The only thing that increased was television broadcasting rights from 109.3 million euros to 113.8 million euros.
Failure to extend the contract with Telecom caused a loss of 6.7 million euros in terms of sponsorship. At the same time, club operating costs rose 5.1 percent to 373 million euros.
AC Milan’s spending on loaning his players is quite large. Examples are Gonzalo Higuain, borrowed for 10.2 million euros and Tiemoue Bakayoko for 2.9 million euros.
AC Milan also spent a lot of money to build several infrastructures. These include improving the practice field, press room, and digital communication.
Even so, AC Milan claims not to worry about the amount of the loss. The club considers what they went through is part of the awakening process.
